The perfect quick and classic treat with no hassle! These Air Fryer S’mores take only 5 minutes and can be made indoors without a campfire. So easy and delicious, you’ll want to make one every day!

I’ve probably been eating s’mores since I was a tiny child, but they always required a campfire with roasting sticks. Not something I’m trying to deal with just for a quick dessert. But now, all I need is my air fryer, and you can definitely forget the roasting sticks.

While the air fryer doesn’t give you that smoky charred fire taste (do we even like that part?), it does give you wonderfully cooked, melty gooey marshmallows, that are perfect for s’mores.

Lesson here: You don’t need a campfire for s’mores! It is no longer a requirement. You can officially separate those two in your head. Got it? Good. Let’s make s’mores!

Recipe Overview

Total Time: 5 minutes
Difficulty:ย Easy
Method: Air Fryer
Prep: 5 Ingredients or Less

What are the ingredients in these Air Fryer S’mores?

The ingredients for theses Air Fryer S’mores are the same as the classic and normal campfire s’mores you know and love! Even though you know how s’mores work, I’ll go over what I used for my basics.

Here are the three ingredients I used in my Air Fryer S’mores:

  • graham crackers – I opted for plain old honey graham crackers. Any brand should work.
  • chocolate bar – Milk or dark chocolate bars are both great options for s’mores. You can go with any brand. One square per s’more if they are larger like mine, or two per s’more if they’re smaller, Hershey’s sizes pieces.
  • marshmallows – Large or jumbo marshmallows are required for Air Fryer S’mores, just like they are for campfire s’mores!

How do you make these Air Fryer S’mores?

It is incredibly simple to make these Air Fryer S’mores! You can make one s’more at a time, or as many as you can fit into your air fryer at once!

The main piece of equipment you’ll need is an air fryer – I use my Cosori XL 5.8 qt Air Fryer (affiliate link!). It can easily fit 4 s’mores at once if that’s how many you want to make!

First, cut your marshmallows in half to expose some of the sticky insides. Place two marshmallow halves, sticky side down, onto half a graham cracker, gently pushing it on with your fingers. The marshmallows halves should stick to the graham cracker well.

This step keeps the marshmallow glued to the graham cracker so it doesn’t fly off once the hot air fryer fan starts whirring. Trust me, it’s a required step!

Make as many graham cracker halves with stuck marshmallows as you’d like, then place them into the air fryer basket, marshmallow side up. Air fry at 400F for 4-5 minutes, or until the marshmallows have browned and began to puff up. Check at 4 minutes and add time if you need to – air fryers will vary!

When the marshmallows are done, quickly and carefully use a spatula or fork to remove the cooked half of the s’mores from the air fryer basket and place them on a cutting board or paper towels.

Immediately place a square of chocolate on top of the cooked marshmallows, pushing the chocolate down with your fingers to nestle it into the hot marshmallow.

Put the other half of the graham cracker on top, and wait about 30 seconds for the chocolate to melt and the cracker to cool. Then enjoy!

EXPERT LEVEL: Use the top graham cracker to pull some of the hot marshmallow up over the piece of chocolate before putting it on top. This leads to a more even melt!

Ways to customize your Air Fryer S’mores:

Air Fryer S’mores can’t really get much better can they? Oh yes, they can. Here are some ways to customize your s’mores instead of just the classic chocolate graham marsh.

  • swap the chocolate for a Reese’s Peanut butter cup or other thing sliced chocolate candy
  • use cinnamon or chocolate graham crackers
  • use fancy marshmallows instead of plain vanilla (like stuffed marshmallows!)
  • add a bit of peanut butter to the hot marshmallow

What kind of air fryer do you use?

The air fryer I have currently, and the one that is pictured in this post is the Cosori XL 5.8 qt Air Fryer (affiliate link!). If you’re going to invest in an air fryer to cook things for 2 or more people, you should opt for a larger size like this one, in my opinion!

I previously had a slightly smaller Philips Air Fryer with a metal grate basket which I liked, but I prefer the larger Cosori model with the nonstick coated basket.

Can you meal prep these Air Fryer S’mores?

Nope, this is not one of normal meal prep recipes I’m all about. This is a quick treat to enjoy right when you make it.

One way to “prep” for s’mores is to keep a S’more Kit – in my pantry I have a little baggie with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for quick access!

How to store, freeze & reheat:

This is a quick dessert recipe that only takes 5 minutes to make! I recommend only making as many as you need and storing the rest of the ingredients for later.

I do not recommend saving or storing assembled s’mores.
