Scale:

Ingredients

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich (classic!)

  • 2 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon your favorite jelly
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich (my favorite!)

  • 2 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 small to medium banana
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • 12 teaspoons honey

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Pickle Sandwich (for the adventurous)

  • 2 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 small dill pickle (or 4 slices)
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco (or your fave hot sauce)

Instructions

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

  1. Assemble sandwich: Lay the slices of bread on a cutting board. Use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter completely over one side of one piece of bread. Spread the jelly in the same way on the other piece of bread and put them together like a classic PB&J. You can do two sandwiches at a time if they will both fit into your air fryer.
  2. Butter the outside: Spread butter over the top of the sandwich gently, using about 1/2 tablespoon butter. Carefully flip the sandwich over and butter the top again with the remaining 1/2 tablespoon. Do this carefully so you don’t damage the bread while spreading butter.
  3. Air fry & serve: Place the buttered sandwich into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400F for 5-6 minutes, flipping after 3 minutes. When the sandwich is hot and golden brown to your liking, cut it in half and enjoy!
    • For a crisper, more browned sandwich, air fry for 6 minutes total.
    • For subsequent sandwiches, reduce cook time by 1 minute.

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich

  1. Cut the banana: Peel the banana and then cut it half in the middle. Next, cut each half in half again, this time cutting lengthwise through the center of the banana, giving each section of banana a flat edge that will lay perfectly in the sandwich.
  2. Assemble sandwich: Lay the slices of bread on a cutting board. Use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter completely over one side of one piece of bread. Place the pieces of banana flat on top of the peanut butter. Next, drizzle some honey over top of the banana, and then put the other piece of bread on top. You can do two sandwiches at a time if they will both fit into your air fryer.
  3. Butter the outside: Spread butter over the top of the sandwich gently, using about 1/2 tablespoon butter. Carefully flip the sandwich over and butter the top again with the remaining 1/2 tablespoon. Do this carefully so you don’t damage the bread while spreading butter.

Air Fryer Peanut Butter & Pickle Sandwich

  1. Cut the pickle: This version is for pickle lovers and people who like weird food combos! You’ve been warned. Use a paper towel to remove excess liquid from the outside of your pickle. If your pickle is not already sliced, using a paring knife to slice it into 4-5 slices.
  2. Assemble sandwich: Lay the slices of bread on a cutting board. Use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter completely over one side of one piece of bread. Place the slices of pickle flat on top of the peanut butter. Next, add drops of hot sauce over the pickle (go easy, you can always add more later), and then put the other piece of bread on top.
